The SPPU will conduct a written test for final year students in July
After the Maharashtra government issued the guidelines, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has decided to conduct the examination for final year students in July. The examination will be in written format and will be from July 1 to July 31.
According to Arvind Shaligram, director in-charge, evaluation and examination of SPPU, the university has received a letter from the state government to conduct the examination for final year students.
“After discussions with the dean and the faculty, we will conduct a written test for final year students in all disciplines in July,” Shaligram said.
Batch waise examination Will be conducted with a total of 2,50,000 students appearing for an average of seven to eight papers. Apart from this, the backlog keepers in the final year will also appear in their exams.
"We have collected all the data, the availability of the number of classes in colleges, which will help in deciding on the infrastructure available for the seating arrangement," said Shaligram.
According to Shaligram, the decision to conduct a written test against an online examination, the purity of 100 percent result in multiple choice questions has not been proved in the evaluation of these exams.
The other factor that went against the online exams was that many students are not tech-savvy, or are located in places where connectivity is an issue.
"we will update exam timetable and pattern of exam after finishing our discussion with facilities member," he said.
